Sheep Classes

Angora classes

Champions 2002Flocks of Sheep have traditionally grazed the chalk downland of Hampshire .
Over hundreds of years, generations of farmers clearing the land to graze huge numbers of sheep created the open downlands of Southern England.

Changing demand and a decline in the wool trade has reduced the sheep numbers but the local flocks are still renowned for high quality animals.

The Sheep Classes at Alton Show offer some of the top breeders in the local area the chance to measure their skills in competition and demonstrate to the show visitor the quality of their animals.
